Visitors to the Alan Cottrill Sculpture Studio and Gallery are treated to a unique experience, a chance to view a prolific artist's entire body of work. Every piece is represented, from first sculpted head to smallest maquette to larger than lifesize figures, with photos and narratives of his largest monumental installations. The exhibit is the world's single largest bronze sculpture exhibit of any living sculptor's work.
The viewer also can experience a working sculptor's studio/workshop. Visit the wax room and mold room where one can often find artisans busy at work. On the second floor gallery one can view Alan's entire body of work and educational displays (The Making of a Sculpture and From Maquette to Monument).
A short trip to the bronze foundry, Coopermill Bronzeworks Ltd., which Alan co-owns with lifelong friend Charles Leasure, can usually be arranged. This foundry, where hundreds of Alan's works have been cast since 1995, is located four miles west of here.
